ONGUARD SMART (OGS) Atmospheric Corrosion Monitor

Indicates the level of corrosion before severe damage occurs

The GV OnGuard® Smart (OGS) Atmospheric Corrosion Monitor indicates the level of corrosion before severe damage occurs, preventing costly downtime and maintenance repairs. The OnGuard’s copper and silver sensors measure the rate of corrosion in real-time. An internal data logger stores the results to be accessed through the internet or directly transmit to a process control system. The latest generation of OnGuard monitors now includes a room pressure sensor.

  • Indicates the level of corrosion before damage occurs,
    preventing costly repairs/downtime
  • Ethernet enabled
  • Easy remote access to data and graphs
  • RoHS compliant
  • Measures corrosion, room air pressure, temperature, and relative humidity on a continuous basis
  • Provides incremental and cumulative corrosion data
  • Easy to install
  • Long service life
  • Readings correspond to ISA Standard 71.04-2013

  • Real-time measurement: Copper and silver quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensors measure corrosion rate, detecting contaminant levels at or below 1 ppb.
  • Data access: Internal data logger stores results, viewable over the internet or sent directly to a process control system.
  • Low maintenance: Sensors remain reliable until reaching 4,000 Angstroms of cumulative corrosion.
  • Flexible connectivity: 4–20 mA output, Ethernet, Power over Ethernet (PoE), SNMP support and email alerts for alarm thresholds.

  • Sensors: Two QCM sensors (copper-plated and silver-plated)
  • Measurements: Corrosion (Å), temperature, relative humidity, room pressure
  • Accuracy: ±1% of full span
  • Outputs: 4–20 mA; Ethernet; PoE
  • Display: Backlit LCD with keypad
  • Operating environment: Controlled environment, -10°C to 75°C (14°F to 167°F)
  • Dimensions: 5.5 in (14 cm) × 3.5 in (9 cm) × 1.75 in (4.5 cm)
  • Weight: 9 oz (255 g)

Certifications & Standards

Readings correspond to ISA Standard 71.04-2013 (ANSI/ISA-71.04-2013). The unit is RoHS compliant.

Installation Recommendations

Install in a controlled environment between -10°C and 75°C (14°F to 167°F). Choose the connection method (4–20 mA, LAN or internet router) before installation. Set alarm thresholds and email alerts at commissioning. Keep the sensors in service until they reach 4,000 Angstroms of cumulative corrosion.
