Moulana College of Allied Health Sciences

The Moulana college of Allied Health Sciences was started under Moulana Charitable Trust – Perinthalmanna started in 2005 and is conducting the B.Sc MLT degree Course, DRT, DOTAT, DMLT and DDT courses. The college is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur and approved by Paramedical Council and Government of Kerala.

PARENT HOSPITAL – MOULANA HOSPITAL

The Moulana Hospital, Perintalmanna, started functioning in 1990 and today it has gained confidence of the people from all walks of life, especially the needy patients of Malabar.

The Moulana Hospital today has reached the level of a super specialty referral hospital with modern facilities and services and an inpatient capacity of 300 beds. The hospital is located 2 kms away from the college of nursing.

The hospital has super specialty departments like Neurosurgery, Neurology, Urology, Cardiology, Cardiothoracic surgery, Nephrology, Gastro-enterology, Respiratory Medicine and Infertility & Assisted Reproduction apart from other specialty Departments.

A well equipped Casualty and Poly Trauma Unit is functioning. We have ten well equipped Operation Theatres, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit, Transplant Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Cardio Vascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit, Intensive Coronary Care Unit, Neurology Intensive care Unit, Respiratory Intensive Care Unit, Critical Care Unit, Twin Labour Room with labour suit, New Born Nursery, ORT Centre, Computerized full fledged Pharmacy, Computerized Laboratory, Physiotherapy Unit etc…

Almost all major surgeries especially CABG, Valve Replacement Surgery, ASD Closure, Renal Transplant Surgery, Total Knee and Hip Replacement Surgery, Lap Banding Surgery for Morbid Obesity etc are conducted. We are also performing Laparoscopic Surgeries and Gynaec Endoscopic procedures. Further the Hospital is actively participating in all the central and state government health Programmes.

The National Task Force has selected our Hospital as Baby Friendly Hospital. This is also a Women and Child Friendly Hospital. We are periodically conducting a lot of academic activities like clinical meeting, presentation of cases, live demonstrations of rare surgeries, workshops for doctors, In –Service Courses for nurses etc. A Medical News Bulletin “Moulana Medi News” is published. We impart training for Surgeons in Laparoscopic Surgery.

A lot of community outreach programmes and other public Health programmes with the co – operation of doctors, paramedical Staff, and participation of various socio cultural organizations are conducted.

We have set up an eye bank under Eye Bank Association of India to promote eye donation & Corneal transplant. A well arranged public relation department for all liaison works (Public Relation and Patient Relation) is functioning well.
